North Stradbroke Island is a pristine, secluded island paradise – a hidden treasure only one hour from central Brisbane.
Opened in 1992, Manta Lodge and Stradbroke Island Scuba Centre is the island’s only PADI dive centre. Located right on the beach at beautiful Point Lookout, we run a full service 5 Star PADI dive resort offering daily scuba dive and snorkel trips, all levels of scuba courses and quality budget backpacker beachfront accommodation.

Scuba Dive Brisbane - Dive Stradbroke Island
Stradbroke Island Scuba Centre offers a full service dive facility, right from the beach at Point Lookout. Boat dives run daily to some of the best sites South-East Queensland has to offer.
All of these fantastic dive sites are within a quick fifteen minute trip from our establishment:
- Flat Rock with its Nursery, Shark Alley, Turtle Caves, The Bowl
- Shag Rock with its amazing swimthrough
- Manta Bommie with its amazing wildlife
- Middle Rock
- Boat Rock
- South Gorge
Visibility is usually around 15-20m, and, during the summer months we often experience visibility up to 30m! Over spring and summer we enjoy a stable climate with day temperatures averaging 27C, with water temperatures ranging from 25-27C in summer and 19-22C in the winter months. The dives sites are situated around large exposed and unexposed rocks and reefs, all situated out from Point Lookout.

Perfectly located on one of Stradbroke Island’s most pristine beaches, Manta Lodge YHA provides excellent budget beachfront accommodation. Enjoy the beauty of our amazing island paradise in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere where you can meet new friends and catch up with old ones.
We have private twin and double rooms, as well as clean, comfortable and secure 4, 6 and 8 share dorm style rooms.
Our facilities include a fully-equipped kitchen, outdoor BBQ and dining area, huge common room with comfy couches and TV/DVD/VCR, free pool and ping-pong tables, surfboard and bodyboard hire, laundry, wireless broadband internet access, outdoor heated showers and lock-up facilities for valuables.
