The majestic and graceful humpback whales that are passing us this time of year have been very inquisitive and fearless of us. In the last few weeks we have had them approach the boat several times and even swimming under the boat.
Althought it is a spectacular sight from the surface to see them breach and wave their fins around, it will take alot to beat the experence that our divers had on Thursday. Two adult humpback whales deciede to join our divers in shark ally off Flat rock, these huge animals swam to within 20m of our divers to have a good look at them …. twice!
The same two whales had given us a huge show on our way out to the dive site with repeated breaches and tail slaps.
Not to forget the dozen Grey Nurse Sharks, eagal rays and huge turtles
